February 21, 2019 – With the Port of Montreal encountering epic levels of congestion, we have now received word from Maersk and OOCL that they intend to levy a Port Congestion Surcharge for all cargo discharging and loading in Montreal. In some cases, these charges are effective immediately. Coupled with a trucker’s reservation fee a few months ago, the costs to ship containers through this gateway has increased significantly in the past year.
